I am looking for a Wilford Moates/Motes and a Jefferson L. Motes of Newberry County, South Carolina. They witnessed the wedding of my ggg-grandfather Thomas Bell to Mariah Garry, 16 March 1843, Newberry. Thomas Bell and Mariah went to Campbell County, Ga, soon after they were married. They are found on the 1850 census there. Would appreciate any information on the family of your Mary Catherine Moates, as it may help us in tracing the parents of Thomas Bell and Mariah.
Thank you,
Cynthia Benua
