I cannot answer your questions, but can provide some clues. The Joseph Mote who married Elizabeth Barton, 1834, Warren Co., GA, and the Allen Mote who married Ronda Barton, 1828, Warren Co., were brothers. There father is William Mote, born about 1764 in South Carolina. William lived most of his adult life on property near Beechtree Creek in Warren Co., GA (Glascock County today). His property adjoined land owned by one of the Newsoms of early Warren County. Another son of William (1964) Mote, one Jeremiah Mote, married Edith (Eady) Newsom, 1830, Warren Co.

Five Bartons paid Warren County taxes on property between 1794 and 1818; Robert Sr., Robert Jr., James, John and William. It appears to me that Robert Barton Sr. was the oldest. In 1794 Robert Sr. paid taxes on 200 acres in Washington Co., GA and 1050 acres in Warren Co., GA on or near Rocky Comfort Creek. The largest (700 acres) of the places in Warren County was adjoined by a Newsom. Beechtree Creek and Rocky Comfort Creek are separated by only a couple of miles. In fact, Beechtree and Rocky Comfort creeks join near Gibson, GA.

My guess is that Robert Jr., James, John and William Barton are sons of Robert Barton Sr. Furthermore, I suspect that Elizabeth and Ronda were either sisters or first cousins, both granddaughters of Robert Sr. As to the father(s) of these ladies, I'm sure your guess would be better than mine.
