I know the Mosteller's came over from Germany (DUH!), whether or not from Pfangstadt, I don't know.Family legend says that alt Mann Mosteller was Herr Doktor Mosteller and made a bad enemy of the Kaiser, for one reason or another.Mr. Mosteller forbade the use of German altogether in the family.Might explain the differences in spelling of the name.Could also have been an "umlaut a", which would have given it the "R" sound.Who knows?
