Hello Sharon Mosley, My name Grant Thomas Moseley; My ancesters are from southeastern Kentucky. Floyd, Leslie, Clay and Laurel County. My Great, Great, Great Grandfather was named Daniel Mosely and my Great, Great Grandfather was named Burrel Mosley, he spelled his name different than his fathers. Burrel's brother was named Samuel Mosley. Nathan Mosley was in there also, but I'm not sure how he was related to the others. Burrel Mosley married Elizabeth Crook from Clay County. One of his sons was named Archibald Mosley; he was my Great Grandfather. My Grandfather was named Thomas Gilbert Moseley,was one the sons of Archibald. He added the extra (e) to the name. My Father was named Thomas Nickthaniel Moseley. My wife Maggie and I live in Park Ridge Illinois, a northwest suburb of Chicago. We have been searching for her surnames and mine for a while.
I believe there was a Nathan Mosley with Daniel and Samuel Mosley in an early southeastern Kentucky census. I believe that he is related to Daniel and Samuel in some way. That is all we know about Nathan Mosley at this time. These names were located in southeastern Kentucky.
If you have any information about Daniel, Nathan and Samuel Mosley we would be very interested to hear from you.
Maggie and I descovered that Daniel spelled his last name (Mosely) and Samuel and the others spelled it (Mosley).
We know that Daniel Mosely lived with Samuel's family around 1850. Samuel had about 5 or 6 children. Some of the names were Carr Mosley, Henry Mosley, Almara, we believe, but not sure and Henderson Moseley.
My wife and I would be interested to chat with you on the PC about Nathan, Daniel and his sons Uncle Samuel, who married a Mary (Sloan) Mosley and Burrel Mosley, my Great, Great Grandfather who married Cynthia (Anderson) Mosley from Clay County. She was supossed to have had Cherokee blood in her family line. I am insterested about the Cherokee blood line. also, we noticed that the Mosleys, Moselys, have native american blood in their families in that particular region.
