OK. Let me try and describe as briefly as possible what I have and do not have. My ancestor is Fred Augustus Mosher. According to a biography published in a county history in his lifetime, he was born in 1855, and his siblings Lora and Loran Mosher were born in 1857. The biography goes on to say his father was George Mosher, and his grandfather Hugh Mosher, and he was born in Onondaga county. An obituary written after his death says his father died when he was 7 (hence, about 1862) and his mother remarried and both he and his siblings traveled west to Minnesota. As to census records, I have been completely unable to find anything in the 1860 census. In 1870 his mother Sarah Jane is found along with his step-father Summer Sherman in the town of Sandy Creek, Oswego County. Lora is listed, but Fred and Loran are not there. (A half-sister Senna Frances Sherman is also listed). In 1872 they travel to Minnesota, and Fred, Loran, Loran, and mother are found in numerous census starting with the territorial enumeration in 1875.

So, my goal is to try and connect Fred to the right Hugh Mosher family in New York. Any suggestions would be welcome.
