Hi, Thank you for replying to my message and for the information. The information I found had the marriages in reverse, the first marriage being to Carr. My GGfather was Charles Gideon Isteed who married Sarah Barnum. Their son Carl Edgar Isteed was my grandfather. The spelling for Isteed varies from Isted, Istead and some records have Alstead, Hysted. They all lived around Marmora Lake in Ontario. Then homesteaded in Alberta. Do you know if the book mentions a reference to a book by William Mosher - from the Seventeenth Century to the present date? Printed in Nova Scotia? Unfortunately, it doesn't give dates. I found a copy on fiche in our University Library.
Thanks again,
Donna
