Steven and Derek,

I am hoping you can help me. My line of Moses starts with Alfred Moses b. ca 1838 we think in Burke County d. bet 1880/1910 in Morganton. He married Ellen Elmra Farr 14 Jun 1860 in Morganton, Burke County.

I have not been able to track down who his father is. Could there be a link to the Moses you are talking about?

Also, in the Zion Methodist Cemetery in Burke County (don't know if either of you live around there) but there is a grave stone "Alfred M Moses" who served in the Civil War with Co C, 12th Reg Infantry. Wondering if this is a connection, I have not been able to find anything there either.

A distance member family person said that the Moses were Jewish as her mother remembers Alfred as"funny" about his food and folk. Have either of you heard anything like that?

Any help would be appreciated.
