The House of Moseley from the book Some early families of Pickens Co., Ga.This may not be much help. The Moseley family is one of the oldest in England (Suffolk and Derby), and at least eight of them were knighted and had the right to bear arms. There were four generations with sons John Moseley, the last dying before 1514; he and Nicholas Moseley were residents of the "Mere" estate.Humphrey Moseley died in 1592 or 1594, a native of London and owning estates in Staffordshire and Suffolk; a William Moseley and another William Moseley (his son?) bp London, fled to Rotterdam, Holland, and came to va. in 1649 and settled in lower Norfolk Co., Va.; he married Susanna Cockroft. An Arthur Moseley and his father settled in lower Norfolk Co.; Arthur married Ann Hargraves.Another Arthur Moseley was born 1660, and a Robert Moseley ca1700.The latter's son Robet served in the american Revolution.Arthur Moseley, a captain in the american Revolution, m Sallie Perkins; their son William had a son Mathew and grandsons William and Joseph.Descendants of these two are found in S.C., Ga. and other southern states.
Will be happy to swap information.
