Mose in Wake county NC 1800's
I have a transcription of a very funny newspaper column written by a "Mose" in 1879 describing the Wake county NC wedding party that was given for my grandfather and his first wife in which he manages to name almost everyone at the party except the bride and groom. The column appears to be a regular feature of the newspaper it was published in--a sort of chatty column that describes what "Mr. Mose" has done recently.
From information in the column he apparently had run for public office some years earlier--whether only in Wake county or statewide is not clear. He also apparently travelled about eastern N.C. to get material for his column--the column describes how he travelled with the mayor of Fayetteville from Fayetteville (where he was supposed to go to another party) to my grandfather's party in Wake county.
Unfortunately my transcription does not name the newspaper, and I want to find the original publication. Does this "Mr. Mose" ring a bell for anyone who can tell me where the column might have been published?
