Hello, Phillip
We may have a connection. My mother was adopted by Sarah Jane Booknau (or foster child/?), and Phoebe Ann Lewis, according to Judi Lovelace, was the child of Mary Ann Mix and Elias Lewis.I have contacted her and given her your E-mail address....she knows more about it than I do.I've had a hard enough time finding Booknau...she's the only one who has contacted me re: Booknau.
Phoebe's name is spelled so many different ways, it's unbelievable.Phoebe, Phebe, Phebean, etc.
Almost all of the Booknau's are buried in the Westerville, Nebraska cemetery...as well as my parents. It looks like Phoebe was married several times.
Phoebe Ann (Phebe) Lewis, Phebe (Phebean)to (James) Mose, Phebe Ann to (George) Booknau, Pheba to(Charles) LaForge.
Sarah Jane Booknau was the daughter of George Booknau and Phoebe Ann Mose, as per death certificate of Sarah Jane Booknau. She is buried in Inglewood Park Cemetery, Los Angeles, California.
My e-mail is [email protected].
Thank You, Julie (Oathout) Wilmoth
