Otto was the son of Jens Peterson Mosby.He came early in life to St. Paul, MN, where he married Miss Marie Johnson, also born in Denmark, daughter of John Anderson and Cecelia Johnson.In 1890, Otto came to Montana and carried mail from Havre, MT, to Seattle, on horseback.In 1891 he moved to Kalispell and later to Eureka.He became the well-known proprietor of the Montana Hotel at Eureka.

O.P.J. MOSBY
On Tuesday evening O.P.J. Mosby passed away after several months of illness.Mr. Mosby was one of Eureka's most prominent citizens and his generosity in response to calls for help from individuals and organizations alke, was perhaps without equal in the town.He was a leader in many civic reforms.
Mr. Mosby and his wife have operated the Montana Motel for the past 25 years.
Otto Mosby was born in Jutland, Denmark, on 22 Jun 1863.At the age of 16 he migrated to this country and located in Chicago.Later he went to St. Paul where he married Marie Johnson.To this union six children were born all of whom survive: Artur, Missoula; Harold, Seattle; Norma, Sheridan, WY; Ellsworth, San Francisco; Mrs. L.A. Riley, Eureka; Mrs. Bob Crowley, Chicago.
In 1890 Mr. Mosby came to Montana and carried mail on horseback during the construction of the Great Northern between Havre and Seattle. Later Mrs. Mosby and the two elder children came. The Mosbys ran a restaurant in Kalispell for many years, coming to Eureka in 1915.
Funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock at the Baptist church with Rev. Arthur B. Ward officiating, assisted by the Elks.Interment will be made in Conrad Memeorial Cemetery in Kalispell.
