I just acquired a book titled “Reminiscences of the Lower St. Joseph River Valley” by J. S. Morton, which I’d like to get back to family members of the Morton family of Benton Harbor, MI. Book is hardcover, apparently privately published in about 1965, although the exact date is not at all clear.

The book contains photos of the Morton family of Benton Harbor going back from James Stanley Morton (1850-1936) and wife Carrie Heath Morton (1853-1937) and their sons Will & Raymond, back to:
Henry Cotton Morton (1817-1895) and Josephine Stanley Morton (1830-1859), and back to:
Eleazer Morton and Joanna Cotton Morton.

In addition, there is Morton genealogy (going back to Plymouth Colony) back from Eleazer, to his parents Ambrose & Sarah Tallman Morton; to Ambrose’s parents Seth and Abigail Hall Morton; to Seth’s parents Eleazar and Deborah Delano Morton; to Eleazar’s parents Eleazar and Rebecca Marshall; to Eleazar’s parents Ephrim and Ann Cooper/Mary Harlow Morton; and to Ephrim’s father, George Morton, who died in 1624.

I am sure this would be a treasure to Morton genealogists. Get back to me at margerice@prodigy.net if you are related to this family.
