Continuation of obituary:
After graduation from David Lipscomb College he came west. In 1888 he came to the Flathead. On August 24, 1891, he was married to Mary H. Newham. They settled in the Holt community where he had lived since. Mr. Morton served as trustee of the Holt church for many years and was a faithful and helpful member, always ready to do his part in any sphere of the work.
He passed away Oct. 13 at his farm home at Holt after a lingering illness. He leaves to mourn his passing his widow and seven children, Mrs. Ruth Eslick, Charles, John and Paul, all of Bigfork, Thomas, of Kalispell, James, of Wenatchee, WA, and Joseph, of San Diego, CA. He also leaves fourteen grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Ida Park, who lives in Tennessee, and other relatives and friends.
