Mortons in Moody and Heflin Alabama 1890-1954

My great grandfather was Rev. CJ Morton and he was a Methodist minister for many years. CJ was also known as Charley Morton by family members. Charley's first wife, Sara Jane, died of cancer in 1926 and Sara Jane is the mother of my grandmother, Pearl E. Morton.

I am trying to find the maiden name of Sara Jane Morton. She was born about 1875 and she passed away in 1926. I would also like to find the link to her Tribe, as some say she was Cherokee and some say she was Piqua Shawnee. CJ pastored a church in Moody Crossroads, St. Clair County Alabama and he also had a home in Heflin Alabama with a history in Talladega County. Thanks for any information, as I sincerely appreciate it very much.
