I have copy of last will of William Morton 1748, Orange County Virginia. In it he names "granddaughter Frances Christopher". Can anyone tell me who her mother was?? Was it Sarah Morton and if so who did she marry?? Unknown Christopher????? I have the William Morton (1694-1748) last will and testament. 1. beloved son Jeremiah Morton 2. beloved son Elijah Morton 3. son in law Henry Bourn of my daughter Ann Bourn 4. son in law Thomas Newman of daughter Elizabeth Newman 5. daughter Mary Minor 6. son in law Andrew Bourn 7. grand daughter Francis Christopher 8. loving wife Ann Morton 9. son John Morton 10. grandchild George Morton son of Elijah Morton Proved in Court 28 July 1748. Andrew Bourn married Jane Morton. See will below. The only daughter unaccounted for is Sarah. I assume she married Christopher. Also note 1st son George Morton is not mentioned in his father's will. See below. Must have already rec'd his inheritance. Andrew Bourne lived in Culpeper County near the Rapidian River between Racoon Ford and the Madison County line. He obtained a land grant 11 Jun 1749 in the Great Fork of the Rappahanock River adjoining the land of his brother-in-law William Tapp in Culpeper County. There is no record of the birth dates of any of his children. This date is traditional. Will dated 22 Aug 1788, recorded 18 Jan 1790, Culpeper County, VA, Will Book C p 357. Frederick Zimmerman 14 June 1784, Culpeper) 7. Polly Bourn (m. George Newman in Culpeper, 10 SEP 1790, after the will was drawn) 8. Andrew Bourn, (m. Elizabeth Robertson) 9. William Bourn (m. Mildred Helm, lived in Frederick Co.) Executors were William Morton and William Pannill. Witnesses were John Bourn, Benjamin Thornton, Reuben Newman and William Bourn.
