Hello Cameron,
I have a copy of marriage certificate for Leonard L. Morse and Mary Heath dated July 31, 1845 in Marengo, McHenry, Illinois.
Leonard L. Morse was the father of my gfather Jerome Morse born 1846.
In Jerome's civil war records, he stated his mother's name was Mary and she was born in New York. Also stated his father had been married 3 times and had a family by all 3.
Leonard, Jerome and children from 1st marriage were listed on 1850 census in Marengo, McHenry, Illinois. Mary was not listed. Have not been able to trace her .
In a letter written in 1925 by one of Leonard's descendants, it was stated that Leonard had another wife who had left him. ( I believe this was Mary)
OK my question is, do you have anything on the Heaths in this location and time frame.
Appreciate any info.
