Have you seen my Lynns or Morrows?
Robert Wiley Lynn born Aug 16, 1832 Knoxville, Knox County, TN, died Aug 15, 1896 Casey County, KY. He married Catherine Jane Morrow Abt. 1855 Knoxville, Knox County, TN.
His possible parents are Robert Lynn and Sarah Hale or William Lynn and Catharine E. Unknown. Does any one know which one is his?
There is a Robert M. Lynn abt 1789 SC or Ireland died Oct 1832 Stewart County, TN married 1816 Anderson County, SC to Sarah. Robert M. Lynn died soon after Robert was born. From the Stewart County TN Court Minutes: Extracts from 1833 John K. Colson Appointed guardian of Robert Lynn, November 6, 1833. No mention of Robert’s mother.
I found a Robert Lynn in the 1850 Census Monroe County TN living with William Catherine Lynn of about the right age. William was born Abt. 1816 SC and his wife Catharine E. Lynn was born Abt. 1810 TN. There were other children in the household with various sir names.
So could William Lynn be his father or maybe an Uncle?
Could either of the above be connected to my Robert Wiley Lynn?
Living close by on the 1850 Census Monroe County TN I found Catherine Morrow age 16 born TN in the house hold of James Tailor age 54 TN and wife Milly Tailor age 37 SC and their children. Are they some relation to Catherine or is she just working for them?
Catherine Jane Morrow born Bet. 1830 – 1833 Monroe County, TN and died Mar 09, 1907 Casey Creek, Casey County, KY. Death record lists her parents as William and Lizzie Morrow. William born TN and Lizzie born VA. I have William Morrow and Elizabeth J. Serco aka Eliza aka Lizzy.
William M. and Elizabeth Morrow are listed on the 1850 Census Monroe County TN along with their other children. Then they are in 1870 Census Campbell County TN next I find them in 1880 Census Montgomery County MO. Lost them after that.
In 1860 Census Monroe County TN Robert and Catherine are in their own house hold with daughter Martha E. (this time it is spelled Linn)
They are living close to William and Catherine Lynn in 1860 Census Monroe County TN. (this time it is spelled Linn)
Robert enlists in the Civil War as he is on the 1890 Veterans Schedule Casey County KY.
Robert and Catherine Jane Morrow Lynn’s daughter Sarah Catherine Lynn is born Oct 1861 TN, Then their son William Lynn is born Abt. 1865 TN next is Nancy J. Lynn Jul 27, 1867 TN.
Sometime between 1867 and 1870 Robert and Catherine Lynn move their family to Casey County KY as they are listed on the 1870 Census Casey County KY. Their last child a daughter Amanda R. Lynn is born May 06, 1870 Casey County, KY. But she is not listed on the 1870 Census. Daughter Martha is not listed in their household in 1870. But in Nov 15, 1883 Casey County, KY, Martha marries William Hardin Woodrum.
They are still there in still in Casey County in 1880.Sarah Catherine Lynn marries Sep 16, 1880 John Quincy Adams.
Aug 25, 1883 Casey County, KY Nancy J. Lynn marries Pleasant Alexander Wilson.
Oct 25, 1888 Casey County, KY Amanda R. Lynn marries James E. Wilson.
Aug 15, 1896 Casey County, KY Robert Wiley Lynn dies, no stone or cemetery listing that I can find.
Have not found a listing for Catherine Jane Morrow Lynn aka Katie Jane Lynn or her son William Lynn after the 1880 Census Casey County KY. Her other daughters are still in Casey County, KY.
In Mar 09, 1907 Casey County, KY Catherine Jane Morrow Lynn dies. Photo copy of death record, but no stone or cemetery listing that I can find.
Martha Lynn Woodrum dies Jan 02, 1946 Harrisburg, Poinsett County, AR, burial Willis Cemetery, Greenfield, Poinsett County, AR along with her husband William Hardin Woodrum.
Sarah Catherine Lynn Adams dies Bet. 1900 – 1910 Casey County, KY burial Wilson Cemetery, Wilson Ridge, Casey County, KY, no stone just a large boulder marks a spot near her grandson. John Quincy Adams is buried in Caney Fork Cemetery, Casey County, KY.
Nancy J. Lynn dies Apr 29, 1957 Casey County, KY, burial Caney Fork Cemetery, Casey County, KY, along with her husband Pleasant Alexander Wilson.
Have no ideal what happened to William Lynn born Abt. 1865 TN, if you find him please let me know.
If anyone has any info on the above people please let me know. I have searched for many years trying to find these Lynn’s.
