First place to start would be with your grandfather. He can tell you where he was born and quite possibly where his parents were born, at least their names. Also check with any older relatives and see what they remember. There are several sevices available for a fee that you can use to research. These message boards are also a great place to find info. Try typing the name you're looking for into a search engine and see what comes up. A genealogy program for your computer such as familytreemaker makes it much easier to keep track of the info.
