Frances 'Tommie' Ferguson, 84, of Kingsport, Sullivan Co TN,
passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at her daughter's
residence after a 15 month struggle. She was born May 16, 1929.
Frances was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother and
great-grandmother. She was a home maker who made her
family the top priority in her life.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Milborn and
Nettie Mae Morris; four sisters, Evelyn McMurray and husband
Paul, Mildred Fleenor and husband Heck, June Kistner and
husband Dan, and Virginia Gilley and husband C.B.; and two
brothers, Harry Morris and wife Virginia, and Henry Morris and
wife Juanita.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 56 years, Richard
'Clay' Ferguson; one daughter, Jennifer Earles and husband
David; one step-son, Larry Ferguson and wife Linda; five
grandchildren, David Earles and wife Jessica, Richard Earles
and girlfriend Kelly Jacobs, Evan Earles, Jaime Ferguson, and
Whitney Estepp and husband Chad; four great-grandchildren,
Riley, Noah, Mallory, and Seth; and a host of nieces, nephews
and cousins.
We are deeply grateful to so many people who have comforted
and cared for 'Tommie' during the difficult last stages of her life.
A very special thank you goes to the staff of Mountain States
Hospice, Jaime Ferguson and Renee Myers, who helped care for
'Tommie' with love and great thoughtfulness.
The family will receive friends in the J. Wayne Hamilton
Memorial Chapel at Oak Hill Funeral Home, on Saturday,
April 5, 2014, from 12 noon until 2 p.m.
The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., with family members,
officiating.
The graveside service will follow in Section W at Oak Hill
Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers.
Honorary Pallbearers will include Mike Gilley and Gary Morris.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Young
Life of Kingsport at 244 E Center St, Kingsport, TN 37660, or
the Dobyns-Bennett High School Baseball Team in care of
Baseball Coach Ryan Wagner, at Dobyns-Bennett High School,
1800 Legion Drive, Kingsport, TN 37660.
The staff of Oak Hill Memorial Park, Funerals and Cremations is
honored to serve the family of Frances 'Tommie' Ferguson.
