The following was transcribed from a document held by the Rector Library in Clay County, Arkansas

History of Ebenezer
by
H.M. Manchester
1860 to 1875

"Benjamin F. Meharg passed on February 16, 1886, and his remains repose in the Salem Cemetery. A compass and square are engraved on his tombstone, which is evidence that he was a member of the Masonic fraternity.

Benjamin F. Meharg has several grandchildren, great grand children and great great grand children living in Arkansas and other states including the Shannons, Shockleys, Vincents, Hatchers, Heaths, Stories, Vinsons and Morrises.

Tom, Ben, Wes and Oddie Patterson and Mesdames Mary Townsend, Susie Yancey and Mattie Shannon are surviving children of Bill Patterson and grandchildren of Tom Patterson."

Any connection?

Danny
