Connie V. Corley

SHREVEPORT, LA - Mrs. Connie V. Corley passed away on Friday, September 18, 2009, after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00p.m. on Monday, September 21st at Osborn Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2009, at First United Methodist Church, Sanctuary, Head of Texas Street. Officiating will be Dr. Pat Day of First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Liberty Cemetery, Purley, TX.

Mrs. Corley was a native of Longview, TX and a resident of Shreveport for seven years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, and the Spirit Wind Thursday prayer group, Desiderata Sunday School Class. She worked several years at Barksdale Federal Credit Union in the mortgage loan department before retiring. Connie enjoyed sewing, cross stitching, needlepoint, tennis, golf and was a pilot.

Mrs. Corley was preceded in death by her grandparents, Audie and R. A. Williams and Hazel and Lisbon Morris. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of thirty-seven years, John A. Corley; parents, Joy Wayne Morris and wife, Brenda of Purley, TX and Ruel Bookman of Shreveport, LA; daughter, Windy Lowery; son, John A. Corley II; grandchildren, Christian Corley, Maddison Corley, Mason Lowery and Gracie Corley. She is also survived by her in-laws, Dee Bauer, Longview, TX; and John and Carolynn Corley, Irving, TX.

Pallbearers will be Gary Corley, Henry Hudson, Monte Bacon, Ronnie Hammers, Robert Williams, Ken Morris and Glenn Morris. Honorary pallbearers will be Dena Justice, Melanie Pirtle, Shonda Leslie, Kathy Shelton, Judy Williams and Barbara Hogan.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Anil Veluvolu, M.D. and his staff; Ammer Gayle Whatley at Odyssey Health Care; all of Connie's friends and family for their kind word and prayers; First Methodist Church; Thursday Spirit Wind Prayer Group and Desiderata Sunday School Class.
