Mary Agnes (Aggie) granddau of Moses

All,
I am a descendant of Mary Agnes MORRELL (a.k.a) Aggie. She appears on the 1880 Federal Census with her Uncle George E MORRELL in Painesville, Lake, OH. The MorrillOnline forum shows her as George's daughter however the census is quite clearly marked as Niece. Also the census lists Aggie's birth as WI and several census records back that up with her son's records stating his mother was born in WI. As far as I can tell George never left Lake Co. That leaves me with two or three options...John Swane, David, or Edward F.
The only one that I can associate to WI is David. However, I don't see him as being married in WI until after 1880 when Aggie is already living with her uncle.
My theory is that David married and then his wife passed away, and he sent his daughter back to his married brother to raise.
Any information or someone that has any sources that I might check with the limited information that I have, I would appreciate the help.
