Polly,

I believe, my Morphews/ Murphys came from the same line yours does.I'm having problems finding my G-Grandpa too. His name was Hiram Murphy b/ about 1812-1819 Tn. m/ Emiine Frizzel b/ abt. 1816-1819. We believe to be from Silas Murphey/Murphy/Morphew b/ abt 1752 Drapers Meadow, Augusta Co., Va.

Silas's father was Joseph Morphew. Silas and Elizabeth England were m/ 1786, in Burke Co. , N.C.

Silas and Elizabeth had the following children;

Uriah , Obediah , Silas, John M., Rhoda, James, Aaron, Jennie, Peggy, Kizzy, Sallie

I'm still trying to put it all together and figure out, who was the father of my Hiram Murphy.

Looking for this Family is like looking for a needle in a Haystack, with all the varius ways their names are listed, Morffee, Morffew, Morphew, Murphey, Murphee, Murphy,etc. etc. !!!

Anybody out there have a " Hiram " ???

E-Me --- PJ
