Jackie Kennedy's van Salee relation?

Anthony and Jan Jansen were my 9th and 10th great-grandfathers through Annica Jansen m Thomas Southard's line.

Doug's post (Thanks, Doug!) about the Frontline show on PBS (WGBH) inspired me to contact the Kennedy Library to ask about Jackie's relation to Anthony Jansen van Salee. A librarian there kindly responded and noted that no van Salee's are known in Jackie Bouvier's genealogy.

Has anyone pursued Frontline's research by Mario de Valdes y Cocom, presumably the person who developed the Bouvier-vanSalee relation?

Also, the original question in this thread about the identity of Anthony's Mother has not been addressed. From pointers on this forum, Anthony's Mom was one of three mates of Jan Jansen van Haarlem (our pirate), perhaps a concubine in Lanzarotte, Canary Islands, while he had married previously in Holland.

Sometime after his capture by Moroccans and his conversion to Islam in the 1610's, and years after Anthony's birth, he took a third Arabian wife, who was well-respected among the local African populace.

Best, Jim Billiter -
