I don't know if it helps, but this is all I know about the Novella's in my tree (and it's not much):

John Francis Novella m Adela Silva (b 1866, d 1963) and lived in Casablanca at some point. I have a copy of a photo taken of John Francis in a shiny new Chrysler Dodge Sedan (circa 1932, by my guess). I also have a copy of a photo taken of Adela visiting Sydney in 1929.

John and Adela had three children:
Clementsia, Cyrene (b 1895/1896) and Cecil
There is a photo of the three children taken at a studio in Gibraltar around 1907. I believe the girls attended the Loretto Convent School in Gibraltar around this time.

Cyrene, according to oral history, spoke four languages and worked as a civilian interpreter for the British in WWI.

She married Jesse Joseph Jones (Welsh) at Easter in 1922, and they sailed for Australia in November/December 1922.
