Seek Info on Gui L'Orange of Fez (late 1800's)

He emigrated to the US, possibly to NYC sometime in the late 1800's, but I haven't been able to find his name listed on any boats. When people emigrated to the US from Morocco, what ports did boats leave from?
Don't know his birthdate, but apparently he married an English woman in NYC, had 9 children, then murdered her and went to prison somewhere.
If anyone knows anything, or where I could start in Fez online, please write back. He is my son's great-great grandfather & I'd like to learn more. Thanks!
