Out here in New Zealand, when I was still a 'Gloag' I remember my father telling me of a friend who had uplited a booked entitled "Gift for the Sultan" from their local library. The story of course was the one you have uncovered of Helena Gloag. Yes, the character's name in the book was Helena. I was very young, and not very interested, but I remember being told the gist of the story where details of her twin sons seemed to provide the plot of the story. The heir to the throne of Morocco was assasinated. Since adulthood, several times I have searched libraries and second hand book stores, as has a friend who is a writer and was interested in the story, but a copy of the book has never crossed my path. I tried to follow the sotry when I visited Perthshire and got as far as Muthill Cemetry (this was in 1976)but I never heard anything of this again until today when I came on the web.
