Hello John,
Just saw your information and 'ask' and sorry for the long wait you have had for a reply.
My grandfather on my mother'side are in the 'morison- from Stornoway and SCt to Australia' category. I have rekindled my interest in the family's roots of late and so happened upon your very interesting information.
After reading your info I'm not sure we have a match but thought I'd give you what I have and see.
From the Morison family bible it has Neil Morison from Stornoway who married Ann (maiden name?). They died 18.8.1859 and 22.7.1860 respectively. At their deaths he was 84 years and she 69 years. Neil had brothers named Allan, Daniel and John. I gather Daniel was my great grandfather ans he died at Nanango Queensland Australia on 26.3.1877 aged 49 years. His wife's name was Jane Hunter.
So as said John, not sure if there is a match or link anywhere there but I'd be very interested to know more from you re the 'Morisons of Stornoway'!
By the way, I travelled to Stornoway and tried hard at the local library to get any leads but had no luck!
