Cindy, I attempted to locate her family a few years ago and got no where. Based on the 1810 census of VA I found 3 families that could have been her's. Now I have her birth year as 1799 based on information I gathered from various family members and I've based my research on that. I'd have to dig back through all my notes but I have a full birth date of 8 Aug 1799. In 1810 there was a James Gwaltney, Simmons Gwaltney and a Michael Gwartney that all had daughters that were 10-15 years old during that census. I tried tracing information on those three but never found any documents that tied either of them with a daughter named Diana or Diane. Short of going to Surry County and spending a few weeks looking through their records I've looked in everything I could find on-line and in libraries but never found any clues. I did notice that you have her possibly buried in the Morring Cemetery. George is buried on the Hawkins Farm along with a Callie C. Morring who I have as the wife of George's son George Ewing. I Diane his wife is there as well as there are a number of unmarked graves. I do not have a lot of data on the Morring family but you can email me and I'll share what I have.
