My mother's maiden name is Morine. Her father was David Morine m. Marie Elmire Leger October 27, 1893 in Church Point, La. I suppose it must be my grandfather that gave the names of Petit Morin(note the change of spelling) as his father and Liza Brossette as his mother. The records I have found show that the marriage license for David was issued with the last name Morin. However, my mother says he spelled his name with the e on the end. I cannot find any information on David or Petit Morin/Morine. The only thing I know about my grandfather is that he came to south Louisiana as a young boy from Natchitoches. He spoke spanish and english. His spanish heritage is what confuses any connection to the Morin's I have found. He did have siblings. My mother remembers Joe/Joseph, Virginia, Clement/Clementine and there was one other brother for sure. I hope this helps you and if your Morine's have any information that may help me, please share.
