Hi, Michael S. Moery. My name is Micheal DeWitt Moery. My unconventional "ea" spelling of my first name is not a typo - it is on my birth certificate in my mother's handwriting.People are always trying to correct it for me - and that's before we even get started on getting them to say Moery correctly. Our bunch pronounces it MURRAY, by the way.
I am 41 and was born and raised in Hennessey, Oklahoma and now live in Oklahoma City.My Moery ancestors are Patrick-->Clarence-->John-->Ernst-->Rudolph, who left Epsach in 1863 or so.My grandfather Clarence (aka Runt) had a brother Otto who hosted the 1970 reunion at his place of business -- The Moery Company.I kinda remember it - I was 5 or so.Runt and Otto, along with my grandmother Elvenia and great-aunt Jean, visited Epsach in the same timeframe.I have always been glad of that - Otto passed away suddenly shortly afterwards and my grandmother had a stroke that put her in a nursing home for her last 10 years.I am glad they made the trip to Switzerland while they could.Only Jean remains alive today. Her grandson John Paul is a vice-president of the US Chamber of Commerce.Usually when you Google "Moery" he grabs the number one search hit.
Ernst homesteaded here in the April 1889 Oklahoma Land Run and my aunt still lives in a 99 year old house on the farm he claimed that day.
