Thank you Wilma!

That was really helpful in providing something more concrete than census records for proof of the relationship between MY Mary Morgan and Joshua and Winnie Morgan, but since Alexander and Gabriel Morgan are the sons of Joshua and Winnie, and would therefore be Mary's brothers, it helps establish another layer of evidence.

I don't recognize the names of the other witnesses: TL Morgan and JT Lewis -- I'll follow up with that. Thanks again.

I did know a little about William and Mary Morgan Haworth's story; I am descended from Matilda Jane Haworth through her son, William Calvin Fielden; his daughter, Marie Janet, was my grandmother.

This may not belong on this board, but if you are descended from Matilda Jane Haworth, daughter of Mary Morgan,t is relevant: There is an account of the battle in which William was killed, written by his brother, David Milburn Haworth, David and William's other two brothers, Isaac and John Leonard also fought for the Union. You can read David's account, kindly posted by his descendant, Paul Randall Haworth here:
