Washington Parish, Louisiana

James Ladrick Morgan was my 2g grandfather, son of William Morgan (1846-1931), both of whom were born and died in Washington Parish and are both buried in Wallace Cemetery. William has a Civil War record with the 16th Regiment, Louisiana Infantry. William's father (also William) was born in 1805 in South Carolina, and was married to Martha Parker by the time he settled in Louisiana. This is borne out by the 1850 census.

Does anyone else have any information about Washington Parish Morgans? I've heard several theories but none of them are possible, as they take place in Kentucky and elsewhere. Any help would be very appreciated. Thank you!
