Hi Dianna, We have only been able to take our Morgan line back to David, b. PA ca. 1806-1808. Wife is Mary Unk. b. ca. 1821 in VA (WV). In the 1850, census he is a school teacher in the 33rd Dist of Marshall Co., and in 1860, he is in Moundsville, Marshall Co. and still a school teacher. He is not in the 1870 census, and there is no Marshall Co. death listing for him or Mary. His oldest son David Lafayette b. 1844 in Marshall Co. is our line. I have David L.'s Civil War records. In the 1840 census there is a David Morgan in neighboring Ohio Co. with 3 males in the 20 to 30 age group???? Another researcher that I have checked with thinks he may be the son of Andrew b. ca. 1785 in either PA or Scotland (conflicting census records). Andrew moved to Ohio Co. from Washington Co. PA. If there had been a will for Andrew, that could have settled it, but none is listed. So that is basically where I am stuck.... Any light you may be able to shed on this mystery would be greatly appreciated. Take care, Ralph McCollum rmccollum13@cox.net Notify Administrator about this message?
