My Hughes family from Amlwch, Anglesey, always were proud of the Morgan tie and gave Morgan as the middle name of many children. The wife of John Hughes was Anne Morgan, daughter of the William Edward Morgan of Amlwch. My Hughes were descended from this group.

My Hughes branch didn't come over to the U.S. until 1915 to Portsmouth, VA. We are still in Virginia.

I got the link to the BBC from a Yahoo chat group on Welsh DNA. I don't think anyone there has a DNA tie, or at least it wasn't mentioned. It was the novelty that caused the orginal posting from the BBC.

This is searchable, I think.
