So, my assumption is that the Theopholis Morgan that wrote his will in Robertson County, Tennessee in 1843, is probably the one who shows up there in the 1830 and 1840 census.
Based on the 1830 & 1840 census this fellow was born 1780-1790.In 1840 his household included 3 under-age females, and 1 under-age male.
The fellow who left a will in Robertson County, Tennessee had a wife named Nancy. He named a son R.B. (not a minor) and four minor children -- Willis, Mary Ann, Malissa and Sarah.
The fellow who died in De Soto County, Mississippi, left a widow named Nancy.She filed for a pension naming her children Lucretia b. 1813, Henry H. b. 1815, Theophilus B. b. 1816, Bryant C. b. 1818, Allen A. b. 1821, Thomas b. 1823, Perry M. b. 1824 and Nancy E. b. 1826.
Theopholis (the Rev War Veteran) married Nancy Mason in Robertson County, Tennessee on 20 Jan 1813 according to his widows affidavit in her Rev War Pension application. Therefore, I'd assume this is the Theopholis who is on the 1812 tax list.
Unlike today, in the 18th and early 19th century, Junior and Senior were not part of a person's name that they carried for life. They were applied to distinguish different folks with the same name and could change over the life of the individual.
