Seeking any information or any descendants of HENRY MORGAN, son-in-law of Reuben Riggs, last found in Giles Co. TN. Marriage of Henry Morgan to Reuben's daughter, Mary Riggs, is recorded in 1808 Grainger Co. TN. Census records and deeds show Henry lived adjacent land of Reuben Riggs near Limestone Co. AL/Giles Co. TN border, around Prospect, TN from the earliest days of Giles Co.
Census of 1820 and 1830 show Henry had both sons and daughters, YET no record of who these children were has been located. One census indicates Henry's middle initial MIGHT have been a "C", but that year's census is chocked full of errors, so this is not official. Henry's wife, MARY, is verified as the daughter of Reuben Riggs in Reuben's will, also on file in Giles Co. TN.
Plat records for Giles, and deeds, verify that the land Henry owned was adjacent to land of Reuben Riggs, and land of BOTH men was adjacent to land of EDWARD DAVIS, Sr. I am a direct descendant of this Edward Davis and have good reason to believe my ggggrandmother, Elzira, who became wife of Edward's son Wm. K. BILLY Davis, around 1824 Giles Co. TN, is a granddaughter of Reuben Riggs EITHER through his daughter Margaret m. #1 Caleb Reece, #2 Wm. Poor, OR throught Mary, wife of Henry Morgan.
I've been seeking PROOF of this for over 25 years and would WELCOME any clues to the whereabouts of anyone connected to this Henry Morgan. I have had more success in following up on the family of Wm. Poor, as his widow, Margaret and their children ended up in Scott, then Yell Co. AR by 1850, the same location as my W.K. & Elzira Davis.
