My mothers father Edward Gilbert Morgan was born in 1902 in Ystradyfodwg and resided at 72 Duffryn Street where his father (Edward), mother (Mary), brother (Ewart) and sister (Florence) lived . His father was a shoe maker. I have managed to get his birth certificate, but I would really like to know what happened to him (I can't find a death certificate) and his brother and sister (I believe they emigrated to Canada some time around the war). There is a lot of mystery surrounding my mothers father (I call him that because my mother never really knew him). My nan had my mum and her sister out of wedlock and later married someone else who adopted them. Nobody is left alive to discuss this although when there were no one would tell my mother anything. We believe he was a freelance journalist and my mum was told he was killed during the war. Any advise as to how I can progress this investigation would be most appreciated.
