Hi Wendy:
I research the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It contains 12,000,000 surviving rcds for abt 65% of Irish counties. Rcds are increasingly sparse B4 1840, rare B4 1800.
Note 1 - Without a KNOWN county, the chance of an ancestor's rcds NOT being in this database is AT LEAST 35%.
Note 2 - Only 1/2 of Co. Cork's rcds are in this database.
Note 3 - The RC church kept control over most parish rcds from Tipperary (north). These are ONLY available thru the Tipperary Family History Research center at a substantial fee (regardless of outcome).
For Elizabeth Morgan B 1843-1869 somewhere in Ireland with a father forenamed Henry, I found 0 rcds.
For Ann Brady M 1851 +/- 4 yrs somewhere in Ireland, I found 47 rcds - too many to summarize here.
For Henry Morgan M ditto, I found 7 rcds: 1848 Down, 1851 Antrim, 1853 Antrim, 3-1853 Down, and 1854 Tipperary. By comparison of the lists, only the 1851 and 1853 Down rcds are POTENTIAL matches. Will leave it to you to screen this database at the parish level for a possible match. If you find one, it is likely for your ancestors.
For George Morgan B 1835-1852 somewhere in Ireland with a father forenamed John, I found ONLY 1 rcd in 1843, Co. Limerick, Kilcolman & Coolcappa RC parish. This MAY be for your ancestor - no guarantee. A view of the detailed rcd MAY show that the mother's name was Margaret and her maiden name. If so, then this will validate the rcd.
For John Morgan M 1840 +/- 3 yrs in Co. Limerick, I found 1 rcd in 1841, Solohead and Oola RC parish. Since you didn't give Margaret's maiden name, only a view of the detailed will validate/invalidate it.
Google the Foundation's name to lead you to this database. Register, opt to be notified as rcds are added and browse. Pls post your search results to my genforum msg.
Hope this helps. Good luck.
