Angelina Morgan who married William Helton (Son of William and Rebecca Helton) was probably born in TN. I found her family in Greene Co. TN on the 1850 and 1860 census with a whole bunch of other Morgan families.
Written on that 2nd page (where Angelina's family is - is the following bit added by the census taker) "These Morgans live up on the side of he Allegany Mountains in a very savage state, they raise a little corn by digging up the ground with a hoe, sometimes some of them come down in the county and work by and and bring______to sell.
Harmon HElton b. 1787 NC, son of Abraham and Charity Helton also married a Sarah Morgan. (Same Family???) Four of his children married into the Goins family of Melungeon renown. Most of Laborn Goins family all claimed to be Cherokee Indians on their applications. So did the Helton's who have a Native American DNA. Does anyone have information on the Morgan Families of Greene County TN? Would appreciate any help whatsoever. Thanks, Mike
