Immigrant John Morgan (Wales; Gwynedd, PA; Abington, PA, Richland, PA) - HELP!

Dear Morgan Cousins -

I am descended from John Morgan who immigrated from Wales to America and settled first at Gwynedd, PA with brothers Joseph, William, and Morgan. Who were their parents? When/how did they come to America? Who did the brothers marry and where did they finally settle for good?

These Morgans were Quakers.

This John Morgan married Deborah Woodruff 26 Jul 1720 at Philadelphia, PA and they lived for a few years at Abington, PA and then moved to Richland, PA where they lived for the rest of their lives. They raised 6 children.

At the time of John's marriage to Deborah he became "out of unity" with the church. After his death Deborah was apparnetly allowed to rejoin; their children, too. Why was he "out of unity" and what does that mean? Is it related to the supposed previous marriage of John? Does anyone know anything about that first marriage - name of bride and/or children and what became of her/them?

I would really like to learn more about this Morgan branch of my family and am praying that someone will share or point me in the right direction!

Thanks - Janice - jlchipman@aol.com
