I am looking for information about my great great grandpa John W. Morgan. I have that he was born on Jan 14, 1847 in Kentucky. He married a Nancy (?) and she was born in 1853 or 54. He died on 20 Feb. 1916 in Johnson County, AR. I would love to know more about my family. My grandpa told me a story about how his family came to Arkansas. He said that his family had a farm/plantation in Kentucky or North Carolina, my thinking is kind of fuzzy, anyway they were Confederates and the Union army set up camp on their property. A captain in the Union army fell in love with my great or great great granpa's sister and he wouldn't hear of it so he shot him. Fearing that he had killed him, he fled to Arkansas. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
