Harlos is a lucky break. If he was John you wouldn't have a chance.
http://vitals.rootsweb.com/ca/death/search.cgihttp://vitals.rootsweb.com/ca/death/search.cgi
says he died 10/06/1982 in Orange Conty, his middle name was Ellston and his mother's maiden name was RANKIN.
I put that in the MMN box, Pennsylvania in the BP box ann left given name blank, which got me his brother Wyland R. and an Ivan who may or may not be related. Wyland may have spelled it Wayland or Weyland and the death certificate may be a typo.
You can try for an obituary. This tells how:

You can look them up on

The Social Security Administration will sell you a copy of an SSN application for $27. It is better than a death certificate because people filled them out themsleves; obituaries and death certificates get filled out by relatives. SSN applications have the person's name, birth date and birth place; mother's maiden name, father's name; place of employment, job title and home address at the time of application.
Click on "SS-5" on the SSDI site and the wizards at Roots Web will even format a letter to the SSA for you.
The SSN ap won't mention wife or child; the obit probably will.
I'm not related.
There are 29 hits for any Morgan married to any Rankin at RWWC

but none look likely.
Once you get his parents' names you may be able to start digging. Wyland was born in 1901, which means his mom was born before 1885 and probably before 1881; you might find her on the LDS 1880. His dad was probably 1 - 4 years older than the mom, so he is almost surely on the LDS 1880, but he will be tough to find, since Morgan is one of the 100 most popular surnames in the US.
