Feb. 1775: John Morgan of Orange County to Cumming Warwick and Company of Nansemond Co Virginia 23 pounds, 300 acres whereon James Rigsby now lives. It being a track of land granted by Earl Granville to Mark Morgan and from said Morgan to James Rigsby and from Rigsby to the aforesaid John Morgan and have in myself and my wife Elizabeth Morgan full power and lawful authority to bargain and sell. Signed John Morgan. Witnesses: Alexander Norbergh and William Sloan.
1777 Mark Morgan's estate inventoried. Amoung other things, 28 negroes, 6 flas wheels, 4 vol. Shurlocks Discoveries, law book, etc. Hardy Morgan, Sarah Morgan

May 31, 1792 Deed of gift from John Morgan to three sons, Mark Morgan, John Morgan and Solomon Morgan.
July 16, 1793 Hardy Morgan deeds land granted to his father Mark Morgan to University of NC at Chapel Hill.
1795 February Mark Morgan deed to John Daniels Jr. 200 acres on both sides of Morgan creek and adjoining lands of John Morgan.
1797 Feb.Will of Hardy Morgan whose wife is Sarah names sons Lemuel M and Allen. The rest of my estate to be divided by my children as they come of age.
1802 Estate of Mark Morgan Jr. who died in 1794 with no wife or issue Heirs: John Morgan and Solomon Morgan
1807 November 19: Power of attorney from James Allen Morgan
(son of Sarah Hardy and Sarah Morgan)"being about to leave the great state of NC ...to Chesley P. Patterson (Husband of James Allen Morgan's sister Nancy Morgan Patterson) to sell land bounded by Solomon Morgan, Lemuel Morgan, Christopher barbee Jarrett Yeargin." Wit: Christopher Barbee and John Morgan.
1807 John Morgan's estate names his children- Solomon P. Morgan "an idiot from birth, John Morgan and a daughter who married Jacob Flowers."
1808 Feb. Chesley Patterson is appointed guardian of Solomon P. Morgan
1858 March 12: The Barbee's gave their interest in the estate of Lemuel Morgan to their Daughter, Emily V. Mathis. Christopher Barbee and wife Sally Patterson Barbee, who was the daughter of Nancy Morgan Patterson (dec'd) was heir of Nancy's brother, Lemuel Morgan who died in Orange Co in 1857. Nancy Morgan Patterson and Lemuel Morgan were the daughter and son of Hardy and Sarah Morgan of Orange Co NC. There is a document in the Calloway Co KY Courthouse Clerk's office which explains this relationship.
