Pierson/Pearson, Morgan connection
This is a long shot, but maybe someone has an answer that will solve a long time brick wall of mine:
My great great grandfather, Samuel Pearson/Pierson (1821-1888) named his first child, JAMES MORGAN PIERSON/PEARSON. Since I haven't been able to locate Samuel's parents, and thinking about the naming patterns used, I'm wondering if any one has found a James Morgan married to a Pierson/Pearson or a James Pierson/Pearson married to a Morgan or any Pierson/Pearson marriages to a Morgan.( the second son was named William Henry if that means anything)
According to the only sources I have found, Samuel was born in PA, migrated to Jackson County, VA now WV then across the Ohio river to Meigs County, OH.
His son James Morgan was born in 1841 in Jackson County, VA. Samuel's wife, Sarah A. White, was born in Beaver County, PA.
The Morgan name has been carried down for 3 generations but no one living knows how it became a family name.Appreciate any help solving this puzzle.
Thanks
Merry Anne Pierson
