Mary,
I believe the person you are researching may be connected to my family.I am researching Thomas Young of Lunenburg Co., VA, who married Dorcas Burnett. One of their children was Diana Landrum Young.Samuel Bynum Morgan (b: 1822) and Diana Landrum Young (b: 1825) were both born Lunenburg Co.They were married in Lunenburg Co., VA, on Feb 02, 1847, or at least that is when the Surety was signed by John L. Morgan.Samuel Bynum Morgan's parents are said to be William Morgan and Dolly Ragsdale, according to the book Oak Hill-Cedar Valley Pioneers.
I also believe the Ralph Young you mentioned (Ralph Young 117 acres) in the Will, is a brother of Thomas Young, but I have no direct proof.A Ralph Young is listed as the Surety for the Marriage Bond of Joseph M. Oliver and Martha J. Young, on November 05, 1844, in Virginia. In the Probates for Lunenburg, Virginia, 1746-1949, #308 lists the property of Ralph Young being sold since he is deceased.Probate was 27 Nov 1847.
However, we find Thomas Young in the 1850 Graves Co., KY, census with a child named Ralph, born about 1833 in Virginia.Thomas and his family migrated to KY in 1847-48,In 1867, most of the children were married and came to Cedar Valley, Texas, near Austin.
We believe Samuel Bynum may have brothers named James Dabner "Jim" Morgan and Edward Claiborne "Clayburn" Morgan. They migrated to Texas with the Youngs, Samuel Bynum Morgan and his wife Diana Landrum Young.
I am most interested in sharing any and all information on this family.
Ernest Young
