Hello,
I am looking for any information I can find on Maximilien Morey.(Grandma said the last name used to be spelt MORET. The "T" was change to a "Y" when they came to US.)
Great-greatgrandpa was born in 1835 and died the age of 65 years 4 monts and 28 days(7-11-1899). He was a school teacher. We know nothing of siblings or parents on his side of the family. He came from Belgium or France. I have city name of Lodelinsant that grandma gave me.
He married Anotolie Gotto. She also came from Belgium/France area She born 5-1839 at the age of 67 died. Her father was Joseph Gotto. She had sibblings by the name of: Eli(moved to Wisconsin-legs got cut off in a machine accident at the age of 42) Gustave, Theophile, Florentine, and Rosalie(she died in childbirth.)
The children of this marriage were Mary, Josephine, Max Jr., Miles, Ella, Pauline(Polly), Frank, and John. Some of these children moved to Indiana, some stayed in Palmyra, Michigan area.
