Jennie Lucile 'Lou' Morelock Wells, 87, Buena Park, CA,
died of cardiac pulmonary arrest, June 24, 2012, at
Anaheim Regional Medical Center/Hospital, Anaheim, Orange
Co CA.
Lucile was born October 7, 1924, in the Beech Creek
Community, Rogersville, Hawkins Co TN, daughter of Orgie
James and Jennie Bessie (Brewer) Morelock. She was a
Christian, later following the Jehovah's Witness faith of
her husband, never really straying from her roots.
She previously resided in Kingsport, TN, Beaver Falls, PA,
and Cottonwood, AZ. She loved flowers; and in her youth
she loved to sing and had been a personal friend of
singers, Tennessee Ernie Ford and Archie Campbell. Later
in life, she would still sing her favorite songs - Amazing
Grace, Down in the Valley, Don't Fence Me In, and others.
Her daughter, Diana, states: All through Mom's life she
clung to her family - immediate and distant, though contact
at times was sporadic. She was one for moving on, seeking
new challenges and new adventures. She had a zest for life
that was unceasing. Never complained much. Difficult
situations became bearable - sort of turning 'lemons into
lemonade', which became her motto. She poured herself into
her homemaking skills, which were above average - doing an
excellent job. She made friends easily. A remarkable woman!
Preceding her in death are her husband, Donald Holmes
'Don' Wells; parents, Orgie James Morelock, of TN, and
Jennie Bessie Brewer Morelock, of VA; father- and mother-
in-law, Earl Thomas and Margaret Holmes Wells; sisters,
Myrtle Morelock, Grace Helen Morelock Blevins, Edna
Beatrice Morelock, Rhoda Clyde Morelock Wright, Iva Marie
Morelock, and Evelyn Odell Morelock; brothers, twins
Delmer and Elmer Morelock, Ralph Morelock, and Rev.
Milburn Howard Morelock; brothers-in-law, Robert Leonard
Blevins, Sr., William Grady Wright, and Albert Carl
Blumstein; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Surviving her are daughters, Linda Lee Wells Katchur,
Morgantown, WV, and Diana Wells Nuzum (Don), Anaheim, CA;
brother-in-law, Robert Earl 'Bob' Wells (Addie); sisters-
in-law, Jacqueline Wells Le Gere and Sondra 'Sandy' Wells
Suazo (David); grandson, John Nuzum, CA; granddaughter,
Sharon Nuzum Couture (Holland), CA; her sister, Darlis
Jean 'Dottie' Morelock Blumstein, Kingsport, TN; half
brother, J. W. Grizzel, TN; and many nieces and nephews.
