Hazel D. Morelock, 85, Jonesborough, Washington Co TN,
went to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 13, 2009, at the
Johnson City Medical Center surrounded by her family.
She was of the Baptist faith. She was a loving wife,
mother, and grandmother but most of all, she loved the
Lord.
Mrs. Morelock was born in Greene County, TN, and was the
daughter of the late Clyde and Grace Johnson Deatherage.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Morelock was also
preceded in death by her husband, James R. Morelock; one
son, James R. Morelock, Jr.; grandson, David Joseph
Anderson; two sisters, infant Rebecca Deatherage and Lois
Deatherage; and one brother, John D. Deatherage.
Survivors include, three daughters and sons-in-law,
Marlene Gillette, Judy and Powell Milhorn, and Mary Lee
and Jerry Gregg; grandchildren, Jimmy Lee Holtslaw, Jr.,
Lori Anne Byrd and husband Tim, Sherri Lynne Anderson-
Ellison and husband Travis of SC, Amy Gillette and Ashley
Lee Price; and several great-grandchildren, great-great
grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.,
Thursday, January 15, 2009, prior to the service at Dillow-
Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m., Thursday, in
the funeral home chapel. Interment services will be
conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, January 16, 2009, at Fairview
Cemetery.
