DARK COMPLEXIONED ?

I would imagine most of you on this site have validated that the name Morell, Morell, Morrell, Murrell, and many others have been derived from the Surname Morel. Especially if you had your Surname History and Coat of Arms research by experienced Geneologists and issued some sort of a certificate from a well known company.

It then goes on to say the Name Morel was derrived from the name More or Moore and indicating it is someone of Dark Complexion. In some cases they come straight out and use the word Negro.

Then I have read several sites where folks with the surnames Morel, Morrell, Morell, Murrell, and others indicate that they have quite a few sibblings and all were fair complexioned.

I am the oldest of ten and I have two brothers with Olive skin complexion and dark brown eyes, one brother with blonde hair and blue eyes. the other three of us are normal fair complexion with Hazel eyes, as was our father. I have two sisters with a little dark complexion and brown eyes and hair and two that are fair complexion with light brown hair and blue eyes.

What we have to remember is that many generations have passed since since the name Morel and its derivatives started. The name Morel is definitely a Norman Name. The Normans were Vikings before then and Germans before that, and even further south then that. I have read that the bearers of the Surname Morel may have very well been of Arab countries before the time of Christ.

Don't know if this is useful to anyone, but a good topic of conversation.
